UPDATE2: Gazprom Neft launches Tazovskoye field in Siberia

ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 16 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Gazprom Neft on Wednesday launched the Tazovskoye oil and gas condensate field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.

The Tazovskoye field is part of the Meretoyakhaneftegaz project. Its geological reserves are estimated at 419 million tonnes of oil and 225 billion cubic meters of gas. Oil production at the field in 2021 is expected at about 500,000 tonnes and gas output at around 3 billion cubic meters. The peak of production at the field is expected in 2024 – at the level of 1.7 million tonnes of oil and up to 8 billion cubic meters of gas.

Gazprom Neft’s CEO Alexander Dyukov said that geological oil reserves of the company’s new cluster, which comprises the Tazovskoye field, exceed 1 billion tonnes.

“This field is part of a new large production cluster of our company in the Arctic, in the Nadym-Pur-Tazovsky region ... The geological potential of this cluster exceeds 1 billion tonnes of oil,” Dyukov said at the launch ceremony of the Tazovskoye field.

Investment in development of the field will exceed 150 billion rubles until 2030. The field was discovered in the 1960s, but only modern innovative approaches and solutions made large-scale development of the field possible, he said.
